Development Manager – Development Management Group (Exempt) | Kansas City

Reports To: Executive Managing Director – Development Management Group

Basic Function: Assist in the management of development  projects for third party clients, which includes assembling a project team, leading design and construction activities including the budget, schedule, and construction administration activities through occupancy/turn-over. A general scope of work of the typical owner’s representative/development project management role is attached.

Experience/Education: Must have 5-10 years of related commercial real estate development and/or construction management experience and undergraduate education in an allied field such as architecture, engineering, construction, and/or real estate.

Specific Skills Required: Project management abilities and knowledge of design and construction and related processes, including feasibility, design concepts, due diligence, risk assessments, team selection, financial analysis, budgeting and contract management.  Proven track record of successfully supporting development and construction projects from feasibility to delivery. Kansas City area market knowledge with local industry and civic involvement. Familiarity with elements of asset and property management including insurance, alterations, vendor selection, contracts, budgets, and procedures is an advantage. Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines. Excellent time management, organization, and written and verbal communication skills. Well versed in current industry technology and tools.

 


Property Manager (Exempt) | Kansas City

Reports To: Managing Director of Property and Facilities Management

Basic Function: Manages all operations and financial activities of a portfolio of commercial properties (industrial, office and/or retail). Primary responsibilities include property maintenance, lease enforcement, maintaining positive tenant and owner relations, contract negotiations and administration, budget preparation and implementation. Assists Managing Director in developing and implementing recommendations to position the property to achieve the highest value consistent with the owner’s objective.

Experience/Education: Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years’ work experience in commercial real estate property management (industrial, office and/or retail). Missouri and/or Kansas Real Estate License will be required. CPM or RPA designation or candidacy preferred.

Specific Skills Required: Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. Strong time management, organization and analytical skills with ability to interpret complex documents and solve problems. Advanced financial knowledge to interpret income statements, budget variance reports and cash flow statements and provide financial analysis. Must be well versed in a variety of technology applications, including but not limited to all Microsoft Office Suite and Yardi. Valid driver’s license with statutory insurance coverage and a driving record that indicates consistent responsible operation of a motor vehicle. Position requires the daily use of employee’s car for travel to and from various locations.
