Panasonic Energy
Newmark Zimmer facilitated the lease of a 509,760 square foot, Class-A logistics facility at Flint Commerce Center in De Soto, Kansas, to Panasonic Energy. The building is currently under construction and set for completion in Summer 2024. It features a cutting-edge cross-dock design in a prime regional location. Flint Commerce Center, a 370-acre master-planned industrial and logistics park, initiated its development last year with this significant lease agreement. Following Flint Development’s acquisition of the site, Panasonic Energy chose De Soto for its new electric vehicle battery factory located less than a mile away. While further investing and expanding in the area by leasing space in the upcoming Building C. Panasonic will occupy half of the building, leaving an additional 509,760 square feet available for future tenants. As a result, the lease will be promoting De Soto’s growth as a logistics and manufacturing hub.
This significant lease earned the 2024 CoStar Impact Award for lease of the year, recognized by an independent panel of industry experts. Panasonic’s battery manufacturing facility is a crucial part of its strategy to increase EV battery production in the U.S., generating new jobs and boosting the economy and manufacturing sector in De Soto and across Kansas.
The transaction was completed by Newmark Zimmer’s Mark Long, John Hassler, and Scott Bluhm.
